Notice to All NYM Employees: Wage Theft Prevention Act Compliance

The Wage Theft Prevention Act requires all employers in New York State to give their employees notice of their rates of pay (including overtime), scheduled hours and regular payday, on or before February 1st. Employees must acknowledge receipt of this information and print a copy of the notice for their personal records.To comply with the law, NYM requires that all employees click on this link: Salary Awareness to view and acknowledge the receipt of their pay notice.Please follow these instructions:

1.         Click on the link - Salary Awareness 

2.         You will be asked to enter your employee ID number and last the last four digits of your Social Security number.  (Please note that if you are working from a non-Hospital computer, you first you will have to enter “nymemployee’ as your ID and “star” as your password and then you will be asked for your ID and last four digits of SSN.) 

3.         You will see the notice with your pay information on it.  

4.         If English is your primary language, check the first option in section 9, and skip steps 5 and 6. 

5.         If English is not your primary language, look in the right upper corner. You will see the links to the same notice translated into six different languages provided by the Department of Labor. If your primary language is listed there, please click on it and proceed to step 7. 

6.         If you choose to view the notice in English, because your primary language is not one of the six languages offered in this notice, please choose the second option in section 9 and select your primary language from the drop down menu there. 

7.         Print the notice for your records. 

8.         Click on the “Acknowledge and Logout” button in order to complete the transaction and close the window. You may have to scroll down in order to see this button. It is IMPERATIVE that you  click the ACKNOWLEDGE button before closing the page to ensure compliance with the Department of Labor regulations.

Flu Vaccine: It's Not Too Late!

vaccination.jpgOutbreaks of the flu virus tend to peak in the late winter months and continue to persist into the spring. In past years, influenza has continued to circulate through the summer, and New York City has had outbreaks late in the spring. Therefore, it is still not too late to get your seasonal influenza vaccine. Vaccine is available for all employees, students, volunteers, consultants and attending physicians at our Employee Health Service, located in Wesley House 8B.

Fire Life Safety and Ergonomics Training 2012 now-available-sign.jpg

The hospital will continue to offer Fire Life Safety and Ergonomics Training in 2012. The Safety and Nursing departments have put together a schedule to make training available for employees from all shifts.
